Our Lady’s School – Upper section is a mixed school situated in a picturesque view in the outskirts of Nuwara Eliya town. It is a government assisted school that belongs to the Nuwara Eliya education zone and both Sinhala and Tamil medium studies are done here up to the Ordinary Level.
Since its inception in 2011, the school has produced the best O/L examination results in the region for three consecutive years.
Initiated by the Irish Catholic Nuns of the Good Shepherd Order, beginning a long-standing history in the Nuwara Eliya District.
Maintained as a Primary School for boys and girls up to Grade 5. Due to parent requests, the administration planned for an expansion.
Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Vianney Fernando initiated the extension. The school began at Collingwood Bungalow with 122 students and Rev. Fr. M. Shiwantha Rodrigo as the first Rector.
Construction in Ruwan Eliya began. 10 classrooms opened in 2012, followed by a second building in 2013/2014 to accommodate Grades 6–9.
By 2016, OLUS became a fully-fledged school from Grade 6 to 11, now hosting nearly 700 students with top-tier academic results.
